AT A GLANCE

ATHENS
Superlatives easily come to mind when describing Greek islands, but there’s no doubt that Santorini lives up to its reputation of exceptional beauty and sophisticated ambiance. Its spectacular landscapes, tourist infrastructure, and significant archaeological remains make it one of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the world. In fact, Santorini is perennially voted as one of the top 10 travelers’ destinations in the world, attracting everyone from young honeymooners to older sophisticates. A second and smaller island called Thirasia, is located on the northern tip of Santorini, while the islands Palea Kameni, Nea Kameni and Aspronisi sit inside its lagoon type sea. Even though it’s most famous for its caldera and outstanding landscapes, Santorini it is also home to a few small yet particularly interesting museums. Despite its small size - barely 10 miles from one end to the other – Santorini is an island full of wonders and hidden treasures.
