Lucerne is a delightful town, a picture-perfect place with the most well-known panoramas in all of Switzerland. It is located less than an hour away from Zurich and has grown into quite a popular city for tourism during the last years. Already established in the Roman years, Lucerne remained despite the demise of the empire. A must-see attraction are the medieval remains, the Altstadt (the old town) and the views during walks along the Chapel Bridge. From Lucerne it is easy to take a trip on the steep railway up the side of Mount Pilatus and to Jungfraujoch. Jungfraujoch is a highlight of every Swiss trip: it is the famous observation deck opening up to the fantastic panorama, surrounded by glaciers and eternal snow.
