ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF NAXOS
Housed in a historic building, this museum exhibits a wide range of artworks and unique objects from the Neolithic period to Early Christian times and the second largest collection of Cycladic marble figurines in all of Greece.

GEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF APEIRANTHOS
A museum dedicated to the study of Naxos’ unique geology. There, you will find information related to the geology of Naxos and the South Aegean Sea and a number of rare mineral exhibits such as emery, meteorites, and fossils.

PORTARA
Lygdamis wanted to erect a one-hundred-foot-tall temple to advertise the island’s grandeur. However, the design was never completed except for the ‘Portara’, the enormous marble lintel that stands at the island’s entrance.

CHURCH OF PANAGIA DROSIANI
One of the most important early Christian churches in Greece. According to legend it was dedicated to the Virgin of the Rain following a long period of drought and features some well-preserved 7th-century murals.

THE TEMPLE OF DEMETER
This remarkable temple was built in the 6th century BC and was dedicated to goddess Demeter. In the 1990s, a group of German archaeologists restored the ancient temple making it one of the most compelling sights on the island.

THE VENETIAN MUSEUM
Housed in the 800-year old Della Rocca-Barozzi Tower. Inside, you will find the privately-run Venetian museum that offers visitors an insight into the lives of the Venetian nobles that ruled over Naxos for more than 200 years.
