Today you will leave Gozo behind to explore Mosta, Mdina, and Rabat. Located in the center of Malta, Mosta is a densely populated city that is most famous for its impressive Rotunda – a masterpiece of early 19th century engineering that boasts the third largest unsupported dome in the world. You will then continue to the enchanting golden-stone walled city of Mdina. Once home to Maltese noble, the city offers exquisite architecture and lots of interesting history. Your final stop will be the charming town of Rabat where you will get to explore its labyrinthine early Christian catacombs. This underground system of tombs and galleries offers some of the earliest archaeological evidence of Christianity in Malta and are regarded to be an impressive architectural feat. To the south of Zurrieq, you will find a spectacular system of caves and caverns including the famous Blue Grotto that mirror the brilliant phosphorescent colors of the underwater flora. You’ll have the chance to admire this mesmerizing scenery and visit the tiny harbor of Wied iz-Zurrieq from where you can also see the scenic island of Filfla in the distance. At the picturesque Marsaxlokk fishing village (the largest fishing harbor of Malta since antiquity) you will see the popular Luzzus.
