Montserrat has been home to eighty monks making up the Benedictine Community since 1025 and to St Mary, Patron of Catalonia and worshipped by hundreds of visitors daily. You will visit the Monastery which houses the famous Moreneta or black virgin in addition to the most important libraries worldwide, a fine collection of art and the “escolans”, the oldest boys’choir in Europe attracting visitors from all parts of the world to listen to their famous “virolai”.
