Flavors of the Hinterland
A Dalmatian Wine & Peka Experience
Leave the coastline behind and journey into the quiet beauty of northern Dalmatia’s inland landscapes — a region of rolling vineyards, olive groves, and timeless rural charm that remains untouched by mass tourism.
Your guide will lead you through the hinterland of Zadar to a family-owned wine estate, where tradition and craftsmanship have shaped generations of winemaking. Begin your visit with a walk through the vineyards and stone cellars, as your host and sommelier shares the story behind each varietal and the local terroir that defines them.
The experience culminates in an intimate tasting of estate wines, accompanied by cold-pressed olive oil, artisanal cheeses, and Dalmatian pršut (cured ham). As the sun sets over the countryside, enjoy a traditional peka dinner — a beloved local dish slow-cooked under a metal dome over open flames, resulting in tender meats and rich, smoky flavors.
This is more than a meal; it’s a culinary encounter with Dalmatian heritage, set in a serene, authentic setting where every element — from the wine to the fire — tells a story.
